Healing Happens Within

Healing is something that happens on the inside. At least at first. A few weeks ago, I cut my finger while slicing a sweet potato. Immediately, I wrapped the digit with gauze and applied pressure until the bleeding stopped. Stopping the blood flow was the first step in my body getting back to normal. And it happened under the surface, inside. I then spent the next few days with a Band Aid wrapped around my finger. A Museum of Broken Relationships (yay!)

Stop the shredding! Douse the bonfire! Those heart-breaking mementos from past relationships can now be donated to The Museum of Broken Relationships: “Los Angeles will soon [open] its very own Museum of Broken Relationships to mirror the original museum dedicated to heartbreak in Croatia.“ Although a Museum of Broken Relationships might sound a bit depressing, I see it quite differently. Reading the article linked above filled me with excitement, hope and even peace. Earlier in the summer, late on a Friday afternoon, I received the following text message from a friend:

“Went to the library and decided it’s a self-help book weekend. I thought you would like this quote from one, ‘the heart that is broken has been broken open’, about being open now to transformation. Sounded interesting.”
