With the exception of a few personal favorites, celebrity marriage and divorce isn’t a topic I watch closely. However, a few days ago, I was reading an article that referenced Jennifer Aniston’s Post-Brad interview with Vanity Fair. It’s been eleven years since I found out about The Other Woman in my marriage… On June 6, 2006, I went to my soon-to-be-ex-husband’s office to sign some documents pertaining our divorce. Was it Meant To Be? The night before I began my senior year of high school, my redheaded boyfriend and I broke up. Marriages are like planes. Divorce is like a water landing. On Sunday night, I watched the movie, Sully. For those unfamiliar, the film chronicles the story of (and the story behind) the US Airways plane that made an emergency landing in the Hudson River in January 2009. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger was the captain of that airplane. It was his expertise and quick thinking that saved the lives of those on board. Remember when I said, “I’m not anti-marriage“? Here’s proof… On January 14, 2017, I tied the knot with my domestic partner of the past two years. We self-united in a small and simple ceremony, surrounded by our closest family members. One of our friends played the cello. Another facilitated the exchange of our vows and rings and later served as our photographer. It was simple, yet elegant. And overall, it was my favorite of all the weddings I’ve attended.
