Cold Spaghetti

My mom cooked a lot of spaghetti after my dad moved out. It was an easy meal to make and all of us liked it. I prefer minimal sauce on my pasta, so Mom always left the red stuff in a separate pot on the stove. Dinner was a help-yourself kind of thing: grab a plate, butter, bread, noodles, sauce, drink, etc whenever you were ready and proceed to the table… eat, then put your dishes in the sink and return to your regularly-scheduled activities. The spaghetti sat on the stove into the evening before Mom would begin packaging the leftovers.

PAS Awareness

Sunday is Parental Alienation Awareness Day and, as I’ve stated before, I believe in this phenomenon. Therefore, I’m all about spreading the word and cautioning divorced/divorcing parents not to employ such behavior. Remember, to speak ill of your co-parent is to tell your child, “Honey, I love you. But biologically, you are 50% jackass.”

Where To Bloom?

Four years ago, I was living in my newly-renovated Marital Home with Then-Husband. We’d moved in at the end of March after purchasing the house the previous fall and spending months making everything The Way We Wanted It. The house wasn’t huge, but it plenty for the two of us and our dogs. It came with a large garage and there was an apartment above the garage which we planned to use as a little party hut. There was a large porch off the side of the house which comfortably accommodated our patio furniture and grill and there were flower beds all around. It was spring and the flowers were blooming….
